You’re reading Revival! Weekly, a serialized speculative fiction project by Austin writer Andrea Grimes, set in an alternate universe where Donald Trump died of COVID and the winner of the 2020 presidential election was a Republican Texas senator named Rudolfo “Rudy” Ruiz. The project is anchored by “Minne Moves Home,” an imagined newsletter written by Jasmine Rebuke, a laid-off political reporter who relocated from New York City to her hometown of Turner Falls, TX in the summer of 2023.

What can I expect?

Revival! includes elements of science fiction, horror, and political satire. “Minne Moves Home” newsletters will arrive in subscribers’ inboxes weekly-ish as our tale unfolds.

This is a multi-platform, multimedia project; readers can follow Jasmine Rebuke on Twitter and Bluesky. The images you see on Minne’s newsletter are generated by Midjourney, created by Andrea using Canva and Photoshop, or some combination of all three. The voices of Revival! characters also appear throughout our story. The cast so far includes:
